Ricardo Velloso

With a solid career in the advertisement market, his trademark is his versatility, which allows him to perform jobs as diverse as comedy films and special effects productions. He was three times winner of the Profissionais do Ano award, from Rede Globo de Televisão, and has made dozens of cultural and institutional documentaries, music videos and experimental pieces. He is recognized in and out of Brazil for his work in promoting audiovisual culture. With his video “Cidade” he won the Die 50 Besten award, given out by Germany’s Internationale Videokunst Preis, who elect the 50 best video-art pieces in the world. In 1991, he was among the 10 Brazilian directors selected by the São Paulo Goethe Institut to develop cooperative projects with European television networks about Euclides da Cunha’s book “Os Sertões”.
