Izabel Jaguaribe

She has a broad experience as a director and co-director in commercials, TV shows, and documentaries. She worked as an assistant director for Walter Salles in the feature film “A grande arte”, from 1991. Right after that, she was commissioned to direct commercials and music videos at Videofilmes and, soon after that, at Zohar, she worked with productions for the international market. She was a partner of Conspiração Filmes, where she did work for large advertisement agencies and popular Brazilian musicians. For cable channel GNT, she directed the documentaries “Passageiros” and “Um Dia Qualquer”, part of the series “6 Histórias Brasileiras”, from 2000. Simultaneously, she has always worked in movies. Izabel has made two films for the One-Minute film festival and documentaries such as “O Corpo do Rio”, an anthropological approach on the body of Rio. Her debut as a feature film director was "Paulinho da Viola - Meu Tempo é hoje", released in 2003, with a screenplay by Zuenir Ventura
