A São Paulo citizen, whose family came from Sergipe, Homero Olivetto grew up in São Paulo’s urban and chaotic universe, but have his grandparents’ sertão as his mystical background. His essential influence comes from a mix of Frank Miller’s graphic novels and Leandro Gomes de Barros’ cordel literature.
Homero studied filmmaking, screenwriting and visual storytelling in New York Film Academy and started his filmmaking career with the short film Egonowhere, which was granted an award in São Paulo International Film Festival 2000. Soon afterwards, he joined the filmmaking agency S/Filmes, in which he directed singer Maria Rita’s debut video clip and DVD, including the singer’s special for Rede Globo television network. In 2007, he started his own agency, Ouro 21, which has established itself in the advertising market by producing campaigns for major clients such as Unimed, EMS, Grendene, Petrobras, among others.
In 2009, Homero co-wrote with Marcus Baldini the film adaptation of Bruna Surfistinha’s book The Scorpion's Sweet Venom, which will be released June 2010. Homero is currently co-producing with Paula Lavigne his first feature film, Língua Seca.
